Ever remember a time when you were so excited to have a free-to-do-whatever-you-want getaway with your best buddy? No parents, no oldies, no exact plan, and no….. money! Hahaha! Well, I can still feel the fun and excitement every time I look at the photos of me and my cousin, Marj, the first time we went out-of-town together — just the two crazy us. We usually travel with friends and family so we tried to go backpacking and see where our craziness can take us. Here is our “huling hirit” for summer 2009 right before the school year begins.
It was a four-days-three-nights stay in one of the most famous tourist destinations in the Philippines — Boracay Islands. Most people come in groups, with family, or with their special someone. But me? I visited the place with the “all-in-one” person I know. Some people would think it’s boring if it’s just the two of you. But hey, if it is with someone you’re comfortable with and someone with whom you can laugh at the top of your lungs, then you might wanna extend your vacay! Plus, there were really no dull moments coz everything is available when you go out of your hotel/resort. It can be so fun especially if you stay in station 2 where ‘d mall’ is located. You can shop, dine in different restaurants, and take your daily dose of caffeine every morning at comfy cafes. And when the sun goes down, the ‘life’ on the island begins! People enjoy buffet dinner along the shore. And if you want, you can have your favorite seafood cooked in front of you! And yes, after dinner, the party begins!
Here are some photos of our adventure 🙂
Day 1 — June 2, 2009
We arrived on Caticlan airport at 4pm and got to our hotel past 5. We were so tired and just decided to sleep after organizing our stuff. When we woke up, we just had dinner and bought some nice accessories. No photos 😦
Day 2 — June 3, 2009
Went parasailing in the morning. We were so scared the moment we signed the waiver. The next thing I knew, we were up, up, and awaaaaay! And for fifteen minutes, we enjoyed the view of the island!
There we were conquering our fear of heights! yaaaaaayyy! Thanks to our boatman for taking nice shots.
Barhopping after a really delicious dinner!
Day 3 — June 4, 2009
Island hopping from 10am to 4pm. Nice way to meet new people. There were Canadians, Americans, Europeans, and Koreans on our boat. And don’t forget the two gorgeous Pinays! Haha! We had so much fun — from the signing of the waiver up to the last stop! Plus we also enjoyed the eat-all-you-can lunch with delicious seafood menu! Jampacked!
This is my favorite. We went inside a small cave and snorkeled in the cold water. Outside the cave you can see a tranquil expanse of the sea — peaceful, calm, and serene.
After the island hopping, we went back to our hotel to rest for a while. When it was already dinner time, we grabbed some delicious food and back to our hotel again to save our energy for our last party-all-night on the island. And guess what? Unwillingly, we fell asleep! zzZZzzzZZzzz party-all-night in our dreams 😦
Day 4 — June 5, 2009
Disappointed because we missed the party, we just satisfied ourselves with some ‘mouth-watering’ breakfast! Then went for a swim as we bid goodbye to this amazing island.
Au Revoir, Bora!
