My grandparents’ wedding anniversary is one of the many important events that our family is always excited about. We have different themes every year. Simple and intimate (which is always the best), formal golden wedding, olympic and sporty, hawaiian party, and pool party.
To celebrate the 56th year of their togetherness, of giving and receiving, of loving and sharing, we thought of having a rematch of last 2007’s olympic getaway which was held in Ecopark. Since Caliraya resort is best known for its recreation and leisure activities, we booked an overnight weekend stay .
“When there’s a wheel, there’s a way”. Taking it literally, this saying was Continue reading →
I heard Fuerza Bruta first on the radio when the RX deejays, Chico and Delamar, were talking about its star-studded premiere which they attended. They said they felt like social climbers since the venue was full of socialites, celebrities, and politicians. Hearing about how different the show was and how the performers involved the audience induced curiosity in my wandering mind. So, I consulted google to find out more about it but still I was not satisfied after watching the preview. The preview actually made me more curious (and confused).
Before watching the show, I had no idea what exactly Fuerza Bruta is. I read about how amazing the concert was but I couldn’t figure in what sense it was great. I was not even sure whether to expect a musical, play, acrobatic, or dance concert. Even the people I talked to about it didn’t know Continue reading →
More than half a century ago, a strong will-powered man from Antipolo met a sweet vibrant lady from Deparo and they created an extraordinary love story. Years passed, love grew, and dreams came true, they stayed together and made it through.
Fifty-six years of building a family, of sharing a life full of love, with ups and downs, with joys and sorrows… Fifty-six years of facing the trials of life and successfully overcome them… Fifty-six years of receiving and sharing God’s blessings…
Today is my grandparents’ 56th wedding anniversary. I would always remember the date March 15, 1956. The day that started it all. I am so thankful that I have grandparents that take “I do” seriously and I admire them that in spite of all the challenges that life throws them, they remained Continue reading →
A few months ago, the Underground River in Puerto Princesa Palawan was declared as one of the new seven wonders of nature. Before it was officially announced, there were many advertisements persuading people to vote for it. Definitely, I was one of those proud Filipinos who voted online and through text. I was vigorously, promoting it in Facebook and Twitter when it occurred to me that I, myself, have not yet seen how wonderful Underground River is. I mean, I voted for it because it is in the Philippines, that’s a given. But does it really deserve to be one of the world’s new seven wonders of nature?
And to answer that question, my family and I decided to see with our own eyes the natural wonder that is Underground River and witness why among many other tourist destinations it was nominated. Continue reading →
Of all the wonderful places in the Philippines, Baguio which is also known as the Summer Capital, will always be in the list of summer destinations. Well, who would not want to escape the hot weather in Manila and enjoy ‘little America’ in a matter of six-hour drive?
I have been to Baguio many times. And every time I visit, I enjoy everything the place has to offer. From beautiful tourist spots to chilly climate to delicious food. And of course, the trip would not be complete without a souvenir photo with the famous lion’s head along Kennon Road and the two St. Bernard dogs in Mines View Park! But what really made this trip to the City of Pines special was Continue reading →
